Wine & Chocolate Weekend

Snow Farm Winery   and Hall Home Place are participating in the 5th Annual Wine & Chocolate Weekend! Join them February 13th and 14th from 12-5 each day for special wine and chocolate pairings.

From the Vermont Grape & Wine Council

"The fifth annual Vermont Wine & Chocolate Weekend is February 13 & 14, 2016. Dozens of Vermont wineries and chocolate producers team up to pair wines with chocolate confections and desserts. Visitors to wineries around the state can taste the range of Vermont wines and enjoy pairings designed specifically for this event.

Visitors can taste the full spectrum of Vermont wines during Wine and Chocolate weekend. Some wineries specialize in grape wines made from northern grape varieties like Marquette, La Crescent, and Traminette; others produce black currant cassis, honey mead, ice cider, raspberry wine, and apple wine. Some of the pairings are variations on classic combinations, like red wine with dark chocolate, and others are unexpected treats.

The participating wineries will be open from noon to 5 p.m. during the Wine and Chocolate weekend. Visitors can also purchase a bottle of the featured wine with the accompanying chocolates for Valentine’s Day gifts. Please call ahead to wineries for details about their tastings."

VT Farm Show "Buy Local Market"

Excerpted from the VT Farm Show website: Celebrate the diversity of Vermont’s agricultural products January 28th, 2015 at the 4th annual Buy Local Market at the VT Farm Show, where they can learn about, sample and purchase a broad range of products made within the state. Attendees will also have the opportunity to watch state Representatives, Senators and employees of the Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets compete in the annual Capital Cook-off—an Iron-chef style cooking challenge.

The Buy Local Market gives 56 Vermont producers the opportunity to engage with new customers through sampling and conversation. It provides customers a unique time to learn about new products and purchase goods from around the state. At the market, one can find ice creams, cheeses, wines, beers, meats, fruits, vegetables, maple syrups, honeys, and more. A number of vendors also specialize in handmade crafts, like textiles, candles and jewelry—all the best products under one roof.

Parking and admission to the Vermont Farm Show is FREE!  But we'd like to give something back, and what better way than food!  Please bring a non-perishable item to the Farm Show as a donation. Vermont Farm Show personnel will collect all donations for shipment to the Vermont Foodbank.
